from 169 reviewsIt is the second purchase since Synergy2 BFG.
The Synergy 1.5 fits nicely in your hand.
There is more than enough light even with 4 AA batteries.
I am also very happy with the runtime.
Excellent cost performance.
I wanted the 1 lumen moon mode.
I look forward to your next light.
Thoroughly enjoying this little torch. Its form factor is very pocketable, and has made a home of the fob pocket of my jeans and moleskins, and rides with me daily. The deep, machined texture on top and bottom offers excellent grip without being aggressively abrassive on palm or pocket, and the anodised finish on the sides is silky smooth. Adjustable pocket clip is a nice touch for finding the right balance of security and accessibility for your needs. The clicky button interface is crisp and snappy, cycling modes is a breeze. With a nice, wide flat base, this thing is a very stable tail stander. As a light, Moonlight mode is sufficient for navigating indoors at night without offending light sleepers, and the high mode offers plenty of oomf to light up your evening walks on poorly lit trails or footpaths, and medium will meet all your needs in between those scenarios. Its no weapons grade lumen launcher, but it doesn't need to be. No risk of burning a literal hole in your pocket with this one. Just a very useful light, you'll be happy to lug around. I know I am. 5/5 Stars.
I was able to experience the high quality the moment I opened the box and picked it up.
I think it was designed with attention to detail.
The brightness gradation is more user friendly and satisfying compared to the Synergy1.
It also stands out from the crowd as very few people in Japan own Frelux items.
I truly love the design of Frelux.
Now I can't wait for the next model.
The synergy and synergy 1.5 are game changing. One of the best designs I've ever experienced and I definitely have my fair share of flashlights.
The light is elegant in design, comfortable to hold, easy to use, admits of one-handed and ski-gloved use in a way no twisty or tail-clicky could, and tailstands like no other pocketable light. The beam quality is superior. The exterior is sober and discreet, and, though I’m no expert, from what I can tell the machining is equally superior. Beyond the light proper, there is so much good to say about Ben. His responsiveness by email, amid the demands of a one-person production run of 300 lights, and his willingness to build the light with an alternate emitter — in fact, to propose an alternate — simply because I asked, reflect a care in the making of things that on its own warrants giving him your business. Years ago I spent far more than I’d expected to on a new pair of eyeglass frames. I’ve worn those frames every day for more than twenty-one years. Twenty years from now, with luck, I’ll still be reading, cooking, and walking the hills with this Synergy 1.5.
I have the pleasure of owning all Synergy iterations and couldn't be more pleased to add the 1.5 to my collection. From the robust design, prominent grip features and button placement, this light is the perfect pocket companion for dark nights or everyday carry.
Great service. Excellent to do business with and love mi Synergy 1.5
Size is great and the ease of use is fantastic. Great workmanship!
I started with the 2.0 while it was available and loved the finishing, but it was big in the pocket. Now, the 1.5 is not just smaller, but its own animal. The firm clicky switch is satisfying to use and the travel from cycling brightness to off/on is well defined. The 2.0 fits nicely in my hand as a large size glove hand, but it's not a knife and I don't need to hold it that firmly. The adjustable clip seems to have less travel than the 2.0, but that was already more range in tension than you would ever need. I have nimh batteries already, so it was simple to fuel her up, but the alkaline option is some piece of mind, back against the wall with no charger. This is top quality manufacturing.
I was lucky and read my mail when the pre-order came out. Virtually identical to the 2.0 save for AAA power and, a three level reverse clicky. The three levels are accessed through moderate pressure on the switch (while the light is operating) without fully depressing the rubber-encased on-off button. A firm press turns the 1.5 on and off. The “reverse” nomenclature indicates that the light turns on after the depression click is heard and then, the bouton is released. It is in the release of pressure that the 1.5 lights.
The succession of intensity—low, medium, high—begins in this pattern only when the light is turned off at the highest level. Should the light be turned off at the low level, the next off-on cycle will begin at the medium level. Finally, if the light is turned off at the medium level, the next off-on cycle will begin at the high level. The process may sound complex (or not) but is easily “mastered” after a few attempts.
I bought the warmer emitter which is unusual for me however, I found the beam to illuminate pleasantly and not as harsh as some of the higher Kelvin temp LEDs. Beam pattern is tight with nice spill.
A very high quality light with only one possible weakness, the anodizing. While I’ve not used this light long enough to detect wear, I have found my other Frelux lights to wear through the anodizing at any of the comparatively sharp edges of the design. This in no way impairs function and is rather, a cosmetic observation.
Great addition in the fine line of American design and manufacture.
I almost didn't order the 1.5, since I have a 1. But I will say, the updates on the 1.5 as well as the new milling style are definitely worth it. The only thing I would wish for is a metal switch cover instead of the silicone boot. But overall, I love the light. Same great functionality as the 1. Same great quality.
The finish of this light is top notch! Also takes up less space in a pocket compared to other lights. Last but not least made by/in USA!
It, the kit meets my expectations. It is a repair replacement for a damaged light.
It’s an heirloom piece; a work of art, and it happens to be a pretty good light as well
Fantastic—I love the new shape. It feels like it grips you back.
